I kind of wish I had tried to do something like the "America List" that my friend Nathan came up and completed with before he left. The "America List" included several typical American experiences such as spending a whole day in the mall as well as personal goals that he wanted to accomplish by for the end of the summer. It seemed like a really cool way to prepare for the abroad experience and I am a bit jealous of such a creative idea. While I had no "America List" I did get a chance to say goodbye (although sometimes more briefly than I would've liked) to everyone who matters to me and that was a real blessing. This summer has really made it clear to me how many fantastic people I have in my life and how fortunate I am. I will miss all of you and look forward to seeing you when I return. If I do not get a chance to call you before I leave I am sorry, but expect an email once I figure out the internet situation down there. Thanks again to everyone who has helped me say goodbye to my home; especially David, Kapelman and Elysse for giving me a better idea of what I can expect abroad and for helping me get my mind in the right place before I leave.

One Day to Go!
Tomorrow I finish up packing and then next morning bright and early I head to Managua. It looks like I averted a crisis with my spanish visa thanks to my incredible director in Nicaragua and will be able to spend both semesters abroad speaking spanish this year. Phew! I am feeling significantly less nervous then I was just a few days ago and am becoming really excited for my upcoming adventures.
